The City of Spokane is undertaking projects to install new ADA-compliant wheelchair ramps at various locations citywide. This initiative aims to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility in our neighborhoods. The installation of these ramps are companion projects to the City of Spokane Street Department’s maintenance grind & overlays of the same streets. Additionally, this project is part of a pedestrian access route improvement project funded by WSDOT to create an ADA pathway to replace the recently demolished Magnolia Pedestrian Bridge over I-90.
The construction is scheduled to start in March of 2024 and is expected to be completed by June 2024. Crews will be working in different areas throughout the city, and the schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen delays. Contractors will be responsible for setting and maintaining the work schedule once the contract is awarded.
Contractors are required to minimize impacts on the public and provide two business days’ notice to homeowners or businesses directly impacted by the work. Traffic restrictions may be temporarily revised if unforeseen circumstances arise. For everyone’s safety, please obey all traffic signs.
