Overview
Several streets will undergo grind and overlay (milling and resurfacing) in the upcoming construction season. These improvements target areas with deteriorated asphalt, enhancing ride quality and extending pavement life.

- Christmas Tree/Rockwood Pine
- Upton: A to Nettleton
- Elm: Central to Francis
Project Timeline
- Construction Start: Scheduled by segment, with notices provided in advance.
- Estimated Completion: All locations expected to finish within the upcoming construction season.
Key Objectives
- Road Rehabilitation: Remove the top layer of damaged asphalt (milling) and apply new asphalt.
- Structural Improvements: Level sunken areas, fix cracks, and ensure manholes match final road grade.
- Extended Pavement Life: Provide an improved, more durable driving surface.
Project Scope
The main activities within this project include:
Four-Step Method:
- Structure Lowering: Manholes, stormwater, and sewer structures lowered.
- Milling: Remove damaged or worn asphalt.
- Structure Reset: Raise manholes and utility fixtures to the new asphalt elevation.
- Overlay: Apply new asphalt layer for a safe, smooth surface.

Community Impact
Grinding and overlay work will cause temporary closures and detours, but the end result is a safer, longer-lasting road surface. Residents are encouraged to follow detour signs and monitor traffic updates.
