The applicant is proposing a 5,820 square foot addition and renovation to the existing Community Center for the Community Colleges of Spokane's Head Start program and the existing MLK Jr Outreach Center. A separate dental clinic of no more than 4,000 square feet is also proposed on the site. Parking lot expansions are also a part of the proposal. The parcel also contains a currently vacant building (605 S. Lee), which will be demolished for the purposes of the dental clinic, the East Central Library (524 S. Stone) and the Southeast Daycare Center (2227 E. Hartson).
A public hearing was held on April 11th, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. The decision was issued on April 24, 2019 by the Hearing Examiner. The date of the last day to appeal is May 20, 2019 at 5 p.m.
