Overview

This project enhances bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure along Lincoln Street from Summit Parkway to Sinto Avenue. Improvements include buffered and protected bike lanes, widened sidewalks, a grind-and-overlay from Summit to Boone, and a new signal at Lincoln/Broadway.

Key Objectives

  • Bike & Pedestrian Facilities: Add buffered/protected bike lanes and widen sidewalks to improve non-motorized connectivity.
  • Roadway Improvements: Grind and overlay from Summit Parkway to Boone Avenue.
  • Signal Upgrades: Replace the Lincoln/Broadway signal with accessible pedestrian signals (APS) and bike detection.

Project Scope

The main activities within this project include:

  • Grind & Overlay: Summit Parkway to Boone Avenue.
  • Sidewalk Widening:
    • 12-foot sidewalk: Summit to Broadway & Mallon to Boone
    • 10-foot sidewalk: Broadway to Mallon
  • Bike Lanes: 6–6.5 ft lanes with 2.5–2.9 ft buffers; green paint for conflict zones.
  • Signal Replacement: New APS and bike detection at Broadway/Lincoln.

  • Sources: Washington State Pedestrian & Bike Program, Arterial Streets Fund
