Project Description

The owner/applicant is proposing to construct an approximately 4,965-sq. ft. addition to be used as an Early Learning Center and a Community Wellness Center. The addition will be constructed at the southeast corner of the existing Logan Elementary. Minimal site work is proposed and will include reconfiguring landscaping and hardscaping, extending fencing around the existing Early Center Playground, and modifications to existing parking. The proposal includes both a Type 2 (Early Learning Center) and a Type 3 (Medical Facility) Conditional Use Permits. The site consists of multiple parcels which are to be aggregated prior to any building permit issuance.

The property is currently zoned Residential Single Family. SMC 17C.110.100, Table 17C.110-1 Residential Zone Primary Uses, lists Daycare (Early Learning Center) as a limited use, and facilities for more than twelve children are processed as a Type 2 Conditional Use Permit. The Residential Zone Primary Use table, lists Medical Center (Wellness Center) as a Conditional Use processed as a Type 3 Conditional Use Permit.

The plat map, SEPA checklist and other application materials have been routed for agency and department review. Comments from agencies are due by Dec. 20, 2022 by 5 p.m.
