Project Description: Construct an additional force main (8-inch) between the Northeast Lift Station and the existing stub at Rowan and Myrtle.

  1. Provide a properly sized forcemain to manage the current flows.
  2. Reduce H2S in the forcemain.
  3. Provide redundancy.

2.2. Scope
The scope of the project includes the activities listed below.

  1. Construct approximately 3,300 LF of 8-inch forcemain from the NE Lift Station to the newly constructed Rowan FM.
  2. Surface restoration above the new forcemain. Where the alignment is in gravel roads, the surface restoration will be gravel. Where the alignment is in paved roads, the surface restoration will be asphalt pavement.

The scope of the project does not include: Full width paving along the alignment.

Project Location(s) and Schedule

  • The new main will follow Havana St. south to Central Ave., west on Central to Myrtle St. then south to Rowan Ave.

Crews will be in the area during the scheduled time frame. All schedules are approximate and dependent on weather and unforeseen delays.

Once the contract has been awarded, contractors will be responsible for setting and maintaining the schedule for the work to be done. If you have questions regarding the construction schedule or the work being done, please contact the contractor's public representative.

Contractors are required to provide two business day’s notice to a homeowner/business if the homeowner/business owner’s property will be directly impacted by the work. This includes access issues.

Construction Zone Details

Most of the impacted streets are gravel with little traffic.

  • Planned Detours: Yes - as needed throughout construction
  • Planned Lane Restrictions: Yes - as needed throughout construction
  • Planned Road Closures: Yes - as needed throughout construction
  • Planned Utility Work: Yes
  • Pavement Cut Moratorium in Effect: Yes - only existing pavement will be replaced. Gravel roads will remain gravel.

Note: The contractor will do its best to minimize impacts on the public, but unforeseen circumstances may result in the need to temporarily revise traffic restrictions. For everyone’s safety, please obey all traffic signs.
