The City of Spokane Wastewater Department is responsible for collecting, managing, and treating wastewater generated throughout our community. We operate the Riverside Park Water Reclamation Facility, a complex system of pipes and pumps that collect wastewater, and a comprehensive stormwater collection system.
Our facilities are designed to protect our local water resources, including groundwater and local waterways. The sewer and stormwater teams are passionate about the work they do to protect the Spokane River. The City has improved the health of the Spokane River with its Integrated Clean Water Plan through a Combined Sewer Overflow System, incorporating advanced water tertiary treatment technology and removing stormwater from the City’s piping system. The City’s Utility Pipe Rehabilitation Program may provide the help you need. The program offers low-interest loans to assist qualified property owners in repairing or replacing damaged water and sewer lines, providing an affordable solution.
