Celebrating Culture, Unity, and Friendship at Riverfront Park

A vibrant celebration of culture, heritage, and international friendship will take place at Riverfront Park on June 21, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM, as Spokane welcomes the public to a triple event: the Taste of Asia Festival, the Philippine American Friendship Celebration, and the Sister City Bench Dedication honoring Spokane's enduring relationship with Jilin, China.

Hosted by the Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Coalition, in partnership with the Spokane Parks Foundation, Riverfront Park, and local community organizations including the Filipino American Northwest Association, Spokane Chinese Association, and Indian Youth Club of Spokane, this multifaceted celebration brings together food, culture, dance, and diplomacy.

All Day CHAS Health Mobile clinic on site! All day food trucks, Beer, Drinks and market vendors and community partners! Cultural performances, Karaoke Contest with prizes, raffles, Asian Cooking demos, cultural exhibits and interactive cultural booths!

Taste of Asia: A Culinary and Cultural Feast

Experience a sensory journey across Asia with live cooking demonstrations, cultural storytelling, and Asian culinary cuisine. This interactive event highlights traditional techniques and artistic expression through cuisine, showcasing the rich heritage of Asian communities in the Inland Northwest.

Philippine American Friendship Celebration

As part of Filipino American Friendship Month, this segment honors the historical and cultural ties between the Philippines and the United States. Expect traditional Filipino performances, arts displays, and a joyful spirit of unity and resilience.

Sister City Bench Dedication: Spokane–Jilin, China

The event will also feature the formal unveiling of the Spokane–Jilin Sister City Friendship Bench, a symbol of cross-cultural partnership and goodwill between Spokane and its sister city, Jilin, China. Community members and local dignitaries will join in recognizing this milestone in international relations.
