Narrative: The Spokane Fire Department responded to a garage fire in the 3900 block of East 5th Ave shortly after midnight on Saturday morning. Engine 14 from their station location of 18th and Ray was first to arrive and found a detached garage that was well involved in fire.

The fire was quickly knocked down and as a result, the fire was confined to the garage and did not spread to a nearby dwelling. Crews remained on the scene completing final extinguishment throughout the night. The Special Investigation Unit of the Spokane Fire Department was called to help determine a cause of the fire. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. At this time, the scene remains under investigation.

Cause: Under investigation by the Spokane Fire Department Special Investigation Unit.

Damage: The garage and contents sustained heavy fire damage.
