Occupants of a north Spokane home escaped uninjured by an attic fire that damaged the house late Sunday.
Firefighters were dispatched to the home at 518 E. Empire about 11:55 pm and could see smoke coming from the eaves of the single-story house. They worked quickly to contain the fire to the attic. Minor smoke damage was reported throughout the interior of the home.
The occupants of the home were outside upon the fire department’s arrival. Damage was estimated at $20,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
