No reported injuries in Browne’s Addition triplex fire

A fire in a Browne's Addition triplex broke out this morning at approximately 8 a.m.

The Spokane Fire Department responded to the 300 block of S. Cannon St. on a report of a structure fire in a two-story residence. Upon arrival, fire crews advised of heavy smoke issuing from the first and second floors of the building. The fire was immediately upgraded in order for additional resources to respond to the incident. Firefighters searched the structure and found that no one was home. Crews worked to quickly to extinguish the fire and to keep it from spreading further.

The fire caused damage to the first floor and smoke damage throughout. The Spokane Fire Department's Special Investigation Unit is working to determine the cause.

Fire crews remained on the scene for several hours to monitor the building.

There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters.
