Saturday, Feb. 1, 1:58 p.m., the Spokane Fire Department (SFD), Spokane Police Department (SPD), and Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD) were dispatched for a person reported to have jumped from the Post Street bridge. The SFD & SVFD Water Rescue Teams deployed boats to search for the missing individual; however, personnel were not able to locate the missing person.
The search will continue on Sunday, February 2, 2020 if the missing person is not located sooner. The SFD may deploy drones from our Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) program along the river when winds subside to aid in the search, in conjunction with SFD Water Rescue team assets.
Washington State Park Rangers and Avista also aided and will continue to aid in the search.
