South Hill Structure Fire

Just before 7:30 PM on Friday, April 24, companies from the Spokane Fire Department (SFD) and Fire District 8 were dispatched to a structure fire at 4130 South Altamont. 911 had received a call reporting a vehicle on fire threatening an adjacent home. First arriving SFD crews were on scene within 4 minutes of dispatch and found a heavily involved vehicle fire that had already extended to the siding of a single family home. 

The firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly and keep it from progressing beyond the siding and soffit areas of the structure. Fire damage was limited to the exterior of the home and the vehicle.  Despite the progress and amount of fire, SFD and District 8 saved the structure estimated at $150,000. There were no injuries, and the cause of the incident remains under investigation.
