Original Release 3/6/22:

Spokane, WA--On Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 1:53 AM, the Spokane Fire Department (SFD) was dispatched to the 700 block of West Rockwell Avenue to a 911 call that reported a recreational vehicle on fire.

The first company arrived within 8 minutes and found a medium-sized RV completely engulfed in flames. Three vehicles and a single-family home were directly threatened by the pursuing flames created from the RV. Firefighters successfully prevented the fire from extending into nearby cars and houses and confined the fire to the RV. Once the RV was extinguished, personnel discovered a victim inside the RV's living space. Unfortunately, the victim's injuries were incompatible with life, and resuscitative measures were not initiated. There were no injuries to fire personnel resulting from this incident.

Spokane Police Major Crimes and Fire Departments are jointly investigating the incident. This release is the last SFD release regarding this incident. SPD's Public Information Team will distribute any updates.
