On Friday, July 21, 2023, at 5:17 pm, Spokane Fire responded to 2332 West Broadway Ave for a reported fire in a detached garage. Quint 11 arrived just minutes after dispatch and reported fire showing from the building. A quick interior search for victims was conducted while other firefighters deployed a hose line for fire attack.

The fire was knocked down within a few minutes, preventing the threat of spreading to other nearby structures. A fire investigator from Spokane Fire Special Investigations Unit was summoned to the scene to assist in finding the cause of the fire, which is still under investigation. The fire was considered suspicious, as there was a grass fire burning in the neighborhood at the same time as the start of this one.

Damage estimates were $20,000, with no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.
