City building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical will attend a one-day training session and will be unavailable Tuesday, July 8, during regular field hours. Inspections for building, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical will not be available during this education training day. The City is switching from its current inspection computer system to a new product called Accela Mobile Office (AMO). AMO has a graphic interface that is very easy to use and is tailored towards inspection resulting. It will allow inspection staff to result more inspections in field and provide greater comment turnaround time to customers. It is also a highly customizable product and can be adapted to the different inspection types. We are currently working with building, electrical/ mechanical and plumbing inspectors, but also see the public works and elevator inspectors converting in the near future.
“This training and new system will allow our inspection staff to be more responsive in the field,” said City Inspector Ernie Crocker.
