Residents in the Five Mile area are asked to conserve water today. The City of Spokane’s Water Department is asking residents to turn off all lawn irrigation and limit water usage to drinking and cooking needs.
The power is out to the Five Mile water booster station, following yesterday’s storm. Crews have installed a generator at the location, but it’s not powerful enough to run all of the pumps.
The City’s Water Department is working with Avista Utilities to try to restore full power to the pump station as soon as possible.
