Art helps raise awareness for people with disabilities

The City of Spokane is celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities by recognizing local artists and displaying their artwork at City Hall. 

International Day of Persons with Disabilities is Dec. 3. The aim of the observance is to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.

The art being displayed in the Chase Gallery (lower level, City Hall) features five local artists:

  • Penny Cannon
  • Amber Woodworth
  • Ruth Mortensen
  • Amber Joy
  • Greg Terhaar

The artwork will be on display through Friday, Dec. 5.
