The next edition of “Council Connection,” the cable television program featuring Spokane City Council members as hosts, will be shown live, Thursday, May 7 at 6 p.m. on CityCable 5. Council Members Mike Fagan and Amber Waldref of District1 (Northeast Spokane and parts of East Sprague) will discuss Spokane’s future development in those areas.

“City of Spokane District 1 is a community that is taking unparalleled steps to promote itself as a vibrant, growing, business-friendly district that serves its residents and embraces commerce.” says Council Member Fagan.

Council members and their guests will explore ways Spokane is moving forward with focusing public investment in mixed-use neighborhoods such as East Sprague, the potential for the Hillyard area and plans for Chief Garry Park Neighborhood.

“Quality investment by the city and start-up business in areas such as East Sprague will increase the livability of our neighborhoods, support local business development and help our city grow and prosper,” says Council Member Waldref.

The show will feature guests Colleen Gardner, Chair of the Chief Garry Park Neighborhood Council, Melissa Owen of the City’s Planning Department and Richard Burris, President of Greater Hillyard Business Association.

Council Members will accept calls from viewers during the program; the phone number to reach the show is 625.6337.

“Council Connection” is shown live on the first Thursday of the month and is replayed throughout the month. CityCable 5 is the City of Spokane’s government-access cable station; it’s found on channel 5 on the Comcast cable system in Spokane.
