State, U.S. flags to fly half-staff Tuesday

Spokane Mayor David Condon has directed that Washington State and United States flags at all City facilities be lowered to half-staff Tuesday, Aug. 11 in memory of Washington State Patrol Detective Brent Hanger. Hanger, 47, of Mount Vernon, died on Aug. 6 after suffering a medical condition while on assignment.

Flags should remain at half-staff until the close of business or sunset on Aug. 11 or first thing Wednesday morning, Aug 12.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.

Services for Detective Hanger will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Skagit Valley College (2405 East College Way, Mount Vernon).
