Each year, the City of Spokane’s Community, Housing and Human Services Department invests more than $13 million to foster economic development in services and housing to support extremely low-to-moderate income citizens. The effort builds neighborhoods through the Community Development Block Grant, HOME, Emergency Solutions Grant, McKinney Vento Homeless Grant, City of Spokane Homeless Initiatives, City of Spokane Human Services Grant, and Housing & Essential Needs.

Presently, the CHHS department is accepting applications for the following three Requests for Proposals:

Multifamily Housing RFP – funds projects that acquire, rehabilitate, or construct rental properties within the City limits that are affordable to low-income residents in our community. This RFP is supported with HOME Investment Partnership funds.

2016 Capital, Housing, Economic Development, Blight, & Non-Homeless Services RFP – funds projects for capital, housing, economic development, blight removal and remediation, and public services. This RFP is supported with funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) predominately for low- to moderate-income citizens and City of Spokane Human Services Grant for poor and infirm citizens.

2016 Homeless Housing, Operations, and Services RFP – funds projects that serve the needs of individuals and households experiencing homelessness in the City of Spokane. This RFP is supported with funds from McKinney Vento Homeless Grant, City of Spokane Homeless Initiatives, City of Spokane Human Services Grant, and Housing & Essential Needs.
