City Councilmember Mike Allen will be hosting the September edition of ‘Council Connection’ on CityCable 5 and will be discussing short term rentals, the current cell tower moratorium and the new bike registration program.

Councilmember Allen will interview Keith Kelley, who owns and operates a short term rental within the city. The discussion will cover how the new industry functions and discuss the recently passed ordinance allowing them to operate.

“Short term rentals are becoming increasingly popular in our country, but a lot of people do not know how they operate,” said Allen.

Councilmember Allen will also give an update on the bicycle registration program and the current cell tower moratorium.

“Cell towers are a personal issue for neighbors and we need to update our code to meet continuing technology needs and aesthetic considerations.”

Council Connection will be shown Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. on the City’s cable-access channel, CityCable 5, and will be replayed throughout the month. If you would like further information on the topics covered please contact Councilmember Allen’s office at 509.625.6261 or his assistant Rae-Lynn Barden at 509.625.6715.
