Flyers attempting to intimidate neighbors who might oppose two proposed new developments in the Indian Trail area were left on cars during the North Indian Trail Neighborhood Council meeting yesterday, and a group representing those developments, the neighborhood and the City is condemning that action.

The following statement is issued by North Indian Trail Neighborhood Council Chair Terry Deno, Spokane City Council President Ben Stuckart, Jay Bonnett representing Morning Side Investments LLC, Dennis Crapo and Dwight Hume representing Diamond Rock Construction Inc., and Jonathan Mallahan, the City’s Division Director for Neighborhood & Business Services:

“We have come together today to condemn the flyer, its hurtful words, and its attempt to pressure neighbors from being involved in the public process. Everyone has a right to be heard during a Comprehensive Plan Amendment process. We all agree that these decisions need to be made following thoughtful discussion and civil discourse. This flyer encourages neither, and we are saddened that an individual or individuals have chosen this damaging route to sway public opinion.”
