Following President Obama’s proclamation, Spokane Mayor David Condon has directed that Washington State and United States flags at all City facilities be lowered to half-staff effective immediately to honor the victims of Tuesday’s terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium.

“It is with profound sadness that the Spokane community mourns the victims of these senseless attacks,” said Mayor Condon. “It is my hope that along with City facilities, other organizations, citizens, and businesses with flags lower them as well to help show Spokane’s support of the people of Belgium.”

Flags should remain at half-staff until the close of business or sunset on Saturday, March 26, 2016, or first thing Monday morning, March 28.
