Spokane Mayor David Condon, following a declaration by President Donald Trump, has directed that United States and Washington state flags at all City facilities be lowered to half-staff to honor victims of the shooting on Sunday in Sutherland Springs, Texas.

“Today is a difficult day for numerous of families and for our nation as we try to make sense out of the unspeakable violence unleashed on people attending Sunday morning church services,” said Mayor Condon. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sutherland Springs community and everyone affected by this horrendous tragedy.”

Flags will remain lowered until sundown on Nov. 9. Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
