Spokane Mayor David Condon, following a declaration by President Donald Trump, has directed that United States and Washington State flags at all City facilities be lowered to half-staff to honor victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.

“Spokane sends its deepest sympathies and condolences to all those touched by the devastating tragedy in Parkland, Florida,” Condon said. “We join the country in mourning those who have lost their lives and supporting the friends, families and loved ones of those who were killed or injured in this senseless attack.”

Flags will remain lowered until sundown on Feb 19. Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
