The City of Spokane’s Community, Housing and Human Services Department (CHHS) has $2,500,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CBDG) funds and will be accepting applications for a wide variety of projects including land acquisition, rehabilitation, affordable housing and public facilities and improvements. CBDG grant funding has helped facilitate numerous projects in low-and-moderate income neighborhoods throughout the City of Spokane.
Applications are due by, 5 p.m., Friday, 0ctober 26, 2018.
“Capital investments are essential for increasing both access to, and community capacity for, the services that improve quality of life and increase economic opportunity,” said Kelly Keenan, Director of Community Housing and Human Services (CHHS).
Funding is available to any applicant whose proposal will primarily serve low and moderate income individuals, or families. All applicants will be subject to an internal risk assessment by CHHS staff to determine aptitude for administering federal funds.
CHHS staff will hold two technical assistance workshops to assist with application questions. Six additional dates are available to provide technical assistance for interested applicants to discuss proposals.
The next CHHS funding opportunity will be in October and geared toward service organizations.
Those interested in applying should monitor the City’s funding opportunities page.
