Defendant Pleads Guilty

On September, 20, 2019, the Honorable Judge Szambelan sentenced Isiah J. Cavitt (21 years) to 190 months in prison for the homicide on July 8, 2018 in the area of 3000 N. Nelson Street.

A confrontation had started in the area of 400 W. Sprague Avenue between Cavitt, his associates and the victim. Cavitt and associates located the victim at a residence on Nelson Street. Immediately after the victim placed his infant child inside a vehicle, he was shot which resulted in his death.

Other co-defendants are awaiting trial.
