Starting today, the City of Spokane will conduct an online public survey to gather feedback on two proposed alignments to connect the Fish Lake Trail to the Centennial Trail. The survey will be available to the public until Friday, April 30.
The City has been evaluating route options for the trail connection since early 2020. The City held two public meetings on the project and also worked with a consultant to look at the physical terrain, aquatic resources, park features, and more.
The analysis of the route options is now available for review. Two alignments have been identified as the best candidates to move forward for additional public review and comment.
Citizens can learn about the project on the City’s web site. There, citizens will find a project background, alignment maps, the final concept report and the public survey.
Survey results and selection of the final route will be shared with the public. The selected alignment will move directly into the preliminary design phase with additional opportunities for public involvement. The City will seek final design and construction funding through state and federal grant programs.
