In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday on Monday, Jan. 20, Spokane City Hall will be closed along with other City facilities, including Spokane Municipal Court and Community Justice Services.
On-street parking meters and kiosks will not require payment on Monday, Jan. 20. However, please remember even when parking is free on holidays, all parking rules, including time limits, still apply. All Spokane Public Library branches will be closed, too. The Development Service Center will not be available on Monday, Jan. 20.
The Spokane City Council is not scheduled to meet on Monday, Jan. 20. Council meetings will resume on Monday, Jan. 27, with a 3:30 p.m. briefing session and 6 p.m. legislative session. Meetings are shown live on CityCable 5, the City’s government-access cable station, and are streamed on Facebook and the City's website. Citizens who want to provide testimony on an item on the Council’s agenda can sign up online.
Other services will proceed on normal schedules. Solid Waste Services will proceed as usual. Residents who miss garbage day can report their missed solid waste collection online. The Waste to Energy facility, along with the County’s transfer stations, will be open.
Spokane 311 employees will be available by phone, or online for customer service inquiries on Monday, Jan. 20. The public can access Spokane311.org 24 hours a day, and messages will be responded to the next business day.
