City Closures Planned for Thanksgiving Holiday

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, Spokane City Hall and other City facilities will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28.

Additional Thanksgiving closures and cancellations include:

  • Garbage, recycling, and food & yard waste for customers who have Thursday and Friday collection days, will be a day late due to the holiday. Crews will complete Thursday routes on Friday, Nov. 28, and Friday routes on Saturday, Nov. 29.
  • On-street parking meters and kiosks will not require payment on Thanksgiving Day. However, remember that all parking rules, including time limits, still apply even when parking is free on holidays.
  • All Spokane Public Library locations will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28.
  • The Spokane Municipal Court and Community Justice Services will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28.
  • Spokane 311 employees will not be available on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28, for in-person, phone, or online customer service inquiries. The public can access Spokane311.org 24 hours a day, and messages will be responded to the next business day.
  • Development Services Center employees will not be available on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28.
  • The Waste-to-Energy Facility recycling and disposal site will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, and open during regular operating hours for the rest of the week.

Attractions in Riverfront Park will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but open the rest of the week. View the full list of attraction hours. The Numerica Tree Lighting Celebration in Riverfront Park is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, with festivities from 4 – 7 p.m. Grab your ice skates, a cup of hot cocoa, and join us as we count down to light our community tree.
