The Ben Burr Trail is moving forward in design and on schedule to be built this year. Many in the community are excited by the pending improvements. Others still have reservations.
Understanding the trail is important to the neighborhood and that some of its residents are hesitant about the improvements harming its natural path, City staff and Council recommended a listening session on the trail. The idea was to bring representatives from both the neighborhood and biking communities together for a trail walk to hear what is most important to both groups on the design.
City Engineers, Council members, members of the East Central Community, a representative from the Bicycle Advisory Board, and another community representative walked the trail with them on March 7.

A synopsis of the findings discusses trail width, tree and plant preservation, maintaining the beauty of the trail, and bike speeds.
