Come celebrate one of our most precious resources, trees! Bring the whole family to John A. Finch for Arbor Day on April 26. Festivities run from 11 am to 2 pm.
Free kid-friendly activities will be offered, including: scavenger hunt, crafts, hop scotch and planting of trees and flowers. All kids who complete the scavenger hunt will be entered into a random prize drawing.
Other fun activities include tree climbing, energy efficiency fair put on by SNAP Housing Improvements and Sustainable Works and various demonstrations. A Girl Scout group will demonstrate environmentally friendly cleaning projects. Another Girl Scout will display an electronic bug that uses nanotechnology to convert carbon dioxide to oxygen.
Also, keep an eye on our Facebook Page for a fun volunteer opportunity announcement!
