The very first Fiesta Spokane is here! Come celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month throughout September with a variety of events including a film series, an art exhibit with Oscar de Haro, The Encanto Gala Dinner and Auction at the Spokane Convention Center, and the Fiesta Spokane Festival at Riverfront Park.
Spokane Mayor David Condon officially launched Fiesta Spokane Tuesday morning at City Hall as our city celebrates the contributions, history, culture, and experiences of Hispanic and Latino-Americans in Spokane.
Fiesta Spokane is part of a commitment to reach out to the diverse ethnic communities in our area. The month-long Fiesta festivities are the first in a series of multicultural celebrations presented by the City of Spokane. Others will honor Native Americans, African Americans and Asian Americans.
There is plenty to celebrate this Hispanic Heritage Month, too. We're excited to announce a new Sister City in Mexico, San Luis Potosi, which will become Spokane's fourth current Sister City relationship!
All of this is possible with the support of the people of Spokane and the businesses in our community. Join us and celebrate a big part of what makes this community great!
