We at the City of Spokane want to thank all who participated in Commute of the Century in 2014. The event went very well! I've heard numerous accounts of how the routes have been used by individuals and groups throughout the summer.
One goal for the City was to gather information through the project surveys. We had over 160 surveys filled out, and have plenty of commentary and rating information. This is a great success, and we are presently using this valuable information in our planning efforts and in updates to the Master Bike Plan.
As promised earlier this year, we do have a prize drawing for participants. I'd like to pull everyone together to conduct the drawings and to recognize all the “Commute Centurions”!
I've worked with the Spokane Bicycle Club to pull something together. I've landed a slot on their November general meeting agenda to talk about the Commute of the Century and to give out awards. As an added bonus, their meeting agenda also includes some great bicycle information and adventure reports. Check out the agenda.
I'd like to invite all who participated in Commute of the Century to the Spokane Bicycle Club November meeting:
Riverview Community Center
2117 E. North Crescent Ave. – Map
Nov. 10, 2014 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
If you are unable to attend this meeting, please know that we truly appreciated your participation! Your attendance is not necessary to benefit from the project raffle. I will personally work to contact any individuals who are drawn, and get awards distributed.
This has been a great effort and event, and I look forward to next year's work!
