An update on the Boot-and-Tow program

Last August, the City began its Boot-and-Tow program to help with collection of unpaid parking tickets. Since last year, the number of outstanding tickets and people with four or more unpaid parking citations in collections has dropped.

Here's a look at the numbers as of May 7, 2015:

  • 22,276 tickets remain outstanding (down from 27,785 last year)
  • Those tickets were written to 2,480 people (down from 2,778 people last year)

If a car belonging to someone who has not paid ALL their outstanding parking citations is booted, the vehicle's owner has two business days to pay the tickets and an additional $50 boot-removal fee. After the two days, the vehicle will be towed. The only way to get the car back at that point is to pay ALL citations and collection fees, and ALL fees that were added in the process of being booted and towed.

If you have outstanding tickets in collections and would like to pay them off and avoid being booted and towed, please contact:
