Library offers special activities while schools are closed

Spokane Public Library will offer extracurricular activities on Wednesday, May 27 for children and families in response to Spokane Public Schools closure.

All branches will have a bonus Build! Day at the libraries with building toys available all day. The libraries are also hosting a special craft activity at each branch during open hours. There is no additional staff that day, and for the safety of young children, we do ask that parents and/or guardians be present with them.

Additionally, the South Hill library will feature a special movie: Muppets Most Wanted from 2 to 3:30 pm on Wednesday.

All libraries are open regular hours on Wednesday.

  • East Side, Hillyard, Indian Trail, Shadle, and South Hill branches open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Downtown branch is open at 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Mobius Science Center is open at the downtown library from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Spokane Public Library delivers high quality education for all – opportunities to read, to learn, and discover the world. In accomplishing our mission, we keep in mind certain values that contribute to creating an open and welcoming place where all people can use the services of the library freely.
