Construction to begin on Monroe/Lincoln Street Couplet

In late July, we will be starting construction on the Monroe/Lincoln Street Couplet. This project will include reconstruction of the street from 8th to 2nd Avenues, curb and sidewalk revisions and new pedestrian lighting.

The project is federally funded and includes the following:

Completion of the stormwater facility in the grass area along 4^th Avenue and downstream piping to Cedar
Pipe and street work on Lincoln and Monroe from 2^nd to 4^th Avenues
5^th Avenue stormwater and street improvements

We do not expect this project to close down the hill in either direction. However, lane restrictions will be placed in work zones. Work on the arterials will continue into the 2016 construction season. The public is encouraged to attend the weekly construction meetings.
