Fire and emergency medical coverage of southwest Spokane has been a major focus and we are so pleased to be able to enhance service to this area. On Monday, the new Fire Station 5 began 24-hour fire and emergency medical service to the Qualchan and Eagle Ridge areas.

Station 5 opened earlier this year in Eagle Ridge as one of many Fire Task Force recommendations that have been implemented over the past two years. Calls for service have been growing in Southwest Spokane, especially medical calls. The full-time coverage at Station 5 allows us to respond to those calls more quickly, with the right resources.

The station at 115 W. Eagle Ridge Blvd is a temporary location while we search for a long-term solution near the intersection of Highway 195 and the Cheney Spokane Road. In the meantime, Station 5 is placed at a central location in the area and we are very excited to be serving southwest Spokane from the Eagle Ridge area. If you live in the area, drop by and say hi!
