Today Mayor David Condon and Spokane Public Library Executive Director Andrew Chanse announced the start of National Disability Voter Registration Week! This is a national effort known as the REV UP (Register! Educate! Vote! Use your Power!) Campaign. Hundreds of libraries in over 40 states are participating in the July 17-21 campaign. The Spokane Public Library is one of these libraries.
Starting Monday, July 17 both library staff and volunteers will be registering voters at numerous locations throughout the City of Spokane. Here is the full list of events:
Monday, July 17
Tuesday, July 18
Wednesday, July 19
Thursday, July 20
Friday, July 21
At these events citizens will be able to register to vote, ask any questions they may have on voting and learn about library services. Voting is an important right and responsibility we encourage everyone to fulfill. The National Disability Voter Registration Week campaign is a partnership between American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and EveryLibrary. Read more about the REV UP Campaign here.
