Craft a Vision for the Shadle Area!

Updated June 4, 2019

The Audubon-Downriver and Northwest neighborhood councils recently launched the Shadle area community planning effort. This is a cooperative effort between the neighborhood councils and the City to help shape a community vision for the Shadle district center. The next step for this important process is a series of input opportunities and public engagement studios designed to shape, refine, and review the vision for the future of the area.

First, we invite you to share your input on how you use the Shadle area and what opportunities you see for improvement in a brief online survey. The survey is anonymous and open to all across Spokane.

We will also be hosting a multi-day plan studio with the neighborhoods and SCJ Alliance at the Shadle Library for residents, businesses, workers and all others interested in the project to drop in and participate on Tuesday, June 11 to Thursday, June 13. Additionally, there will be two evening meetings on Tuesday and Thursday for community members to discuss and share ideas, and refine the vision and concepts for the Shadle area. Some of the topics to be addressed include biking and walking connections, safety and security enhancements, access to services, recreational opportunities, and how best to create a “district feel.” Please come any time during the studios and attend the workshops to lend your voice to this important project.

The studios and workshop will be held at the Shadle Library at 2111 W. Wellesley Avenue. Times are as follows:
