COVID-19 is at the top of the news and on the top of the minds of our citizens.
The information is forever evolving, but our direction at the City remains steadfast and clear. We will take the necessary steps to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, while supporting our citizens and employees and continuing to deliver the critical public services that that our community relies on.
We know that we will get through this time together, and it is critical that we look out for each other.
One way we are looking out for each other is by sharing information—on the disease, on changes and closures happening across the City, and on assistance available for families and busineseses. You’ll find our collection of information here. And, the City’s service changes are found here.
Another way is by encouraging people to help their neighbors. You might consider ordering out from your favorite restaurant, which we’re encouraging through our #OrderUpSpokane campaign. You might deliver groceries to a neighbor who is more at risk for the disease. Or you might consider donating to organizations who are supporting our most vulnerable citizens.
And of course, you can help reduce the spread of COVID-19 with really simple actions, like washing your hands, using proper cough and sneeze etiquette, and staying home when you’re sick.
Mayor Nadine Woodward is advocating for being cautious, courteous and calm. And isn’t that the best way through any emergency?
