City Council has been working closely with the Mayor’s office, the County and other local groups to respond to the COVID-19 situation in Spokane. Based on the Governor’s recent proclamations, we are making the following adjustments to our meeting schedule:

We are planning to hold our regularly scheduled Committees Meetings and Briefing Sessions as well as Thursday Study Sessions for the foreseeable future. Monday Legislative Sessions will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis and Council will likely consider only necessary legislative items during the 3:30 p.m. Briefing Sessions. More information about how to tune in to Council Meetings is below.

In addition, we’re working hard to keep our constituents well informed on COVID-19 resources and emergency response efforts. City Council’s policy team has compiled a list of resources available for businesses, organizations, and residents of Spokane. This document, which can be found on the City Council’s “Items of Interest” page, will be updated periodically as the situation evolves. If you feel like we are missing resources or policy information, we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to reach out to us at CityCouncil2@SpokaneCity.org.

How to tune in to upcoming Council meetings:
All open public meetings will be aired live on CityCable5 and online. Web or TV viewing is preferred, but a call in option is also available for those who do not have access via the web or Channel 5.

Attendance in Chambers is not permitted for the public and will be highly limited even for City employees and elected officials. Presenters and Council Members are being asked to attend via WebEx. Staff and the public will be encouraged to tune in to the meeting using one of the options above.

Pursuant to the Governor’s Emergency Declaration, Council is suspending Open Forum and testimony on legislative items until it is lifted or amended to restore public attendance. We encourage the public to reach out directly to Council with their comments on all issues via the contact section of my.spokanecity.org/citycouncil/members. We are also working on putting together weekly Facebook Live sessions for Council Members to interact with the public.
