With increased foot and bicycle traffic in City parks, we are installing 20 mph speed limit signs at 13 parks and park properties, as part of a pilot project advocated by the City Council to see if the signs change behavior. These speed limit changes will be year-round; typically 20 mph speed signs are added at these parks for the summer season only.
Street Department crews will start installing signs at eight parks on Monday, May 11. These parks include:
Speed limit signs also will be installed at Manito Park, Cliff Drive between Ben Garnett Way and Tiger Trial, High Drive between 21st and 29th Avenue, High Drive Parkway between 29th and 33rd Avenue, and High Drive from 33rd to Manito Boulevard. Stay tuned for updates on when these signs will be installed.
Over the past two years, Council Member Lori Kinnear, former Council Member Mike Fagan and the Pedestrian Transportation and Traffic Committee have been working on this project. Thank you all for creating safer streets near our parks!
