“Recycle for the Future!” Local students share the importance of reducing waste and recycling correctly as we all work towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.
More than 200 Spokane County students entered the recent Spokane Recycles Poster Contest sponsored by the Spokane County Regional Solid Waste System. Their artwork, created to help raise recycling awareness in our community, was based on the theme, “Recycle for the Future!” The annual competition is part of America Recycles Day activities that take place across the country on Monday, Nov. 15.
All 30 grade level finalists have their work on display on the second floor of River Park Square.
Thirteen of these students will have their artwork featured in the 2022 “Spokane County Recycles” calendar.
In late December, a limited number of calendars will be available free of charge. Call 509.625.6580 or email the City of Spokane Solid Waste Disposal Department administration office to reserve your copy.
