This month’s video features the Northwest Neighborhood. This neighborhood lies between Balboa South Indian Trail, North Hill, and Audubon Downriver neighborhoods, and Riverside State Park is along its western boundary on the Spokane River.

The Northwest Neighborhood is one of 29 neighborhoods that the Office of Neighborhood Services supports. Each neighborhood has various programs that make a difference including:

  • Clean-up: Helps beautify neighborhoods and reduce crime by collecting and disposing of waste at neighborhood-based events.
  • Community Engagement Grant: Helps fund activities that connect neighbors through events like block parties, ice cream socials, or outdoor movie nights.
  • Traffic Calming: Helps shift traffic patterns and encourages safe driving through projects or design, like asphalt art, education, and the Neighbors Drive 25 yard signs.

If you want to make a difference in your neighborhood, make sure to attend a meeting. Visit the Neighborhood Councils page to check which neighborhood you live in and where your neighborhood council meets.

Remember, you don’t have to move to live in a better neighborhood!
