Application Tips for Full-time Civil Service Positions

The Civil Service team has some quick tips to help you navigate through the City of Spokane’s application and hiring process!
- Draft your answers to the supplemental questions in a separate document before transferring them into the application’s text boxes. The system may time out, risking the loss of your input.
- You don’t need a fancy resume to apply. You will be required to paste your resume details into the application text boxes on governmentjobs.com. If you also want to upload a resume, you will have that option. Hiring managers may or may not look at the uploaded resume, so make sure to include all important information within the application text boxes.
- Keep an eye on your email for communication regarding the status of your application and Civil Service testing. Make sure to check your spam folder frequently.
- If you are scheduled for an online test, we recommend that you take the test as soon as possible in case you encounter any technical difficulties.
