SPOKANE – City of Spokane Parks & Recreation will thank golfers for investing nearly $8 million dollars in new irrigation systems with a special event Monday, August 1.
Since 2018, golfers have paid a Facility Improvement Fee with each round or pass. These dedicated funds are repaying a capital improvement loan to install new irrigation systems at three of our four City courses – Indian Canyon, Esmeralda, and Downriver. (The Creek at Qualchan’s irrigation design study is underway.)
“We are grateful to our golfers for funding these important improvements, and this is one way to say thank you,” said Golf Manager Mark Poirier, PGA. “It’s a nearly $8 million dollar investment by our golfers, saving approximately 38 million gallons of water annually while improving quality of play. This new infrastructure ensures our golf courses can thrive far into the future.”
