Spokane, Wash. – A partially renovated High Bridge Dog Park is re-opening to the community on Monday, October 28, 2024 at noon. The soft opening welcomes back visitors to the dog park, while construction to some amenities is ongoing.

The nearly 10-acre regional dog park has new large and small dog areas, fencing, gates, improved entry/exit including an ADA accessible dog park area, surfacing improvements, and expanded paved parking.

Over the next few months, the remaining amenities will be completed: agility features, shelter, seating, water fountains, improved lighting, and additional tree removal and pruning for fire fuels reduction. The dog park is anticipated to be fully completed in spring 2025.

“We’re pleased to soft-open the renovated High Bridge dog park for visitors to enjoy, and look forward to its full completion in the spring,” said Jason Conley, interim director of City of Spokane Parks & Recreation. “The renovation of High Bridge dog park helps meet a community desire identified in our Parks and Natural Lands Master Plan.”

The dog park closed August 5 for renovation. Meanwhile, a smaller ‘neighborhood’ dog park near the corner of 63rd & Regal on the south hill opened on October 7. Funding for both dog parks was provided by Spokane Public Schools.
