Spokane Police and the Spokane Streets Department urge drivers to avoid the area of E. Upriver Dr. between E. Mission Ave., and N. Greene St.

Due to rising floodwaters from the Spokane River in the area on E. Upriver Dr., the road is currently closed between N. Greene St. and E. Mission Ave. The roadway is closed in both directions and completely covered by water in several spots. Several vehicles have been caught up in the water already, and the water level is expected to keep rising for the next several days. There are several vehicles already in the water which have been abandoned.

Spokane Police and the Spokane Streets Department ask you use an alternate route because attempting to drive through the water can damage your vehicle, and be potentially life threatening. The roads will remain completely closed for the foreseeable future.
